The Women's Foundation of Southern Indiana supports the issues facing women and girls at every point on the life continuum. The following information exemplifies the breadth of our focus.
Areas of Focus May Include:
Birth and Childhood: Supporting Families
- Create or increase community awareness of critical family issues and work with community groups and agencies to find possible solutions.
- Address the insufficiencies of childcare facilities:
- Lack of flexible, non-traditional hours
- Shortage of extended hours
- Inability to access due to transportation issues.
Girls and Women: Connecting women and creating lifelong opportunities
- Promote awareness of resources available for educational attainment in our communities.
- Create networking and mentoring opportunities for girls, women in the workforce and senior women.
- Promote and educate girls and women on the importance of physical fitness and nutrition.
Seniors: Valuing and connecting senior women with services and volunteer opportunities.
- Promote awareness of the need and work with community agencies or groups to provide more and affordable in-home services for seniors.
- Create opportunities for involvement and participation by seniors in the community.
- Increase awareness in the community about the need to value seniors.
